Project overview

The Phenotype Explorer platform, designed in collaboration with researchers and clinicians, is a tool that allows users to explore and discover rare diseases and their associated characteristics.

To develop the platform, we worked closely with the research team to understand their goals and requirements, and then developed a modern web interface.

What we did

By adopting design thinking principles, we created a user-centred design that focuses on the needs of the research team and the end users of the platform.

We created a basic prototype of the platform and conducted user testing to gather feedback and refine the design.

Based on the feedback, we iteratively improved the design, focusing on usability, accessibility, and visual appeal.

Finally, we implemented and integrated the Phenotype Explorer tool with existing data analytics software to augment the researchers experience.

Outcome

The Phenotype Explorer tool is now being used by researchers and clinicians within the centre, to better understand rare diseases and to improve diagnosis and treatment. We continue to work with the research team to enhance the platform and add new features.
